For its third year, The Springs Resort hosted Pagosa’s ultimate hot springs experience, Hot Springs Fest. Due to immense popularity, this year’s event sold out a week before the date, with guests coming from across the country.

Pagosa’s Geothermal Water at the Heart of It All

The Springs Resort introduced Hot Springs Fest in 2020 to provide locals and visitors with a water-based wellness experience featuring Pagosa’s healing geothermal waters at the center of it all.

Since the inaugural event, the event has grown to include a curation of wellness activities from the resort, including aqua sound bathing, aqua yoga, and hang time at The Springs’ off-property venue, Respite Ranch.

The festival, which spanned the course of three days from November 11th-13th, also provided guests an opportunity to explore and experience the unique atmospheres of all three hot spring facilities in the heart of downtown Pagosa Springs, including The Overlook and Healing Waters.

A Focus on Water-based Wellness

During the festival, guests can access three renowned hot spring facilities in Pagosa Springs: The Springs Resort, The Overlook, and Healing Waters. These facilities combined offer a choice of over 40 pools, with temperatures ranging from a comfortable 50 degrees to a soothing 112 degrees. Visitors can immerse themselves in these rejuvenating waters and experience the therapeutic benefits of Pagosa’s famous geothermal hot springs, referred to as “healing waters” due to their natural mineral content.

Hot Springs Fest goes beyond simple relaxation; it also promotes water-based wellness. The festival features live music, health and wellness activities, and the opportunity to enjoy all three soaking facilities in the heart of downtown Pagosa Springs, all for one inclusive price.

Free Community Events

To make the festival more inclusive, The Springs Resort offered five free wellness activities to the public, such as Community Meditation and Community Yoga. Furthermore, they welcomed guests to try a new selection of wellness-centric drinks at the Vitality Tonic Tasting.

Soakember

In addition to the local celebration of Hot Springs Fest, The Springs Resort participated in Soakember, a global soaking day celebrating the health benefits of hot spring soaking, hydrothermal therapies, and nature-based wellness activities.

Joining in the Springs’ annual celebration, this year’s Soakember event saw soaking communities worldwide taking part, including Bozeman Hot Springs of Montana, Glen Ivy Hot Springs of California, Peninsula Hot Springs of Australia, Metung Hot Springs of Australia, Maruia Hot Springs of New Zealand, and Hoshino Resorts KAI of Japan.

Each community brought its unique perspective to the global soaking experience through video, which can be viewed on the Soakember website.

This year, The Springs Resort showcased a song called “Mother Spring” that shares the resort’s healing water experience through its lyrics. Local musicians Steve Blechschmidt, Rodger Bennett, Jenna Palensky, and Jason Rose of the Jackson Mountain Ramblers came together to perform an ethereal ballad that transports listeners to the San Juan Mountains to experience the Mother Spring’s geothermal waters for themselves.

2023 Events & Celebrations

The Springs Resort plans to continue the celebration of Hot Springs Fest and Soakember in 2023 as part of its annual wellness programming. As the year progresses, events will be updated on the resort website to keep locals and visitors informed about upcoming experiences. The Springs looks forward to another successful event in 2023!
